MY CREATIVE JOURNEY

Growing up in California, I was a “band-geek-drama-freak” who spent half my free time playing flute in the marching band and the other half performing in musicals with my Thespian friends. I studied vocal performance at California State University, Fullerton, which culminated in a performance at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary movie music composer John Williams.

When I was twenty, I decided to move to the east coast where I finished my Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, then completed my Master of Music at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. I also began working as a private Vocal Coach, a Music Teacher in the public schools, and began composing music.

I now live in Montréal, where I studied Musical Theatre Composition with the Canadian Musical Theatre Writers Collective and am writing a full book musical. I was the Musical Director of various shows including Chicago, The Addams Family, Shrek the Musical, & Gilbert & Sullivan's Iolanthe. I have performed in the operetta Ruddigore, the composer showcase Blame Canada!, and in several revue shows with the Seven Wonders Theatre Company and The Lyric Theatre Singers. “Someone needs to tell those tales… There’s magic in that. It’s in the listener, and for each and every ear it will be different, and it will affect them in ways they can never predict… You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows what they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift... Do not forget that. There are many kinds of magic, after all.”
